Managing Edge Nodes
Edge nodes are imaging locations (clinics, scanners) that send DICOM studies to Bormell. Manage them from Settings > Integrations.
Edge Node List
Section titled “Edge Node List”Each node shows:
- Name and AET (Application Entity Title — the DICOM identifier)
- Status — Active (green), Inactive (gray), or Offline (red)
- Last Heartbeat — when the node last checked in
- Study Count — number of studies on the node
Adding an Edge Node
Section titled “Adding an Edge Node”- Click + Create Edge Node
- Enter a Name (e.g., “Main Clinic CT”)
- Enter the AET (e.g., “MAINCT”)
- Click Save
Installing on a Remote Server
Section titled “Installing on a Remote Server”- Click the actions menu on the edge node
- Select Get Install Command
- Configure options:
- Enable MPPS (Modality Performed Procedure Step) — ON by default
- Enable Storage Commitment — OFF by default
- Click Copy to Clipboard
- Run the command on the target server
Monitoring
Section titled “Monitoring”The edge node list auto-refreshes every 60 seconds. Check the Last Heartbeat column to verify connectivity. If a node shows Offline, verify its network connection and that the agent is running.
Deleting an Edge Node
Section titled “Deleting an Edge Node”Click the actions menu and select Delete. This permanently removes the node configuration.
