Chat Overview

The Chat module provides real-time messaging for your team. Stay coordinated without leaving Bormell.

Room Types

• Team rooms — group conversations for your entire team, created automatically
• Direct messages (DMs) — private 1-on-1 conversations that you create

Chat Layout

• Left sidebar — lists all your conversations (team rooms and DMs)
• Main area — displays messages for the selected conversation

Each conversation shows:

• The room name (or person’s name for DMs)
• A preview of the last message
• Timestamp of the last activity
• Unread badge — red count of unread messages

Unread Indicators

Unread counts appear in three places:

1. Chat sidebar — badge on each conversation
2. App sidebar — badge on the Chat menu item
3. Launchpad — badge on the Chat card

Counts clear when you open the conversation.
